For some individuals including some professionals, the word “grammar” is toxic and they have negative feeling when they are dealing with this topic. With a thought of helping them, the author, through this module “Grammarian’s Rule: Love Grammar as if There is No Rule” which is basically intended for Structure of English students will discuss grammar in friendly and interactive approach. The explanations provided are light and use classroom discussion style.
Prior to discussions proper, the author provided a simple text from Robert Parker’s “Edenville Owls” to set the mind of the users of this module as motivation for the students learn on how to study and love grammar as well as to establish positive mentality on the practical usage of correct English by analyzing this language's composition.
The first unit focuses on the nature of language and how it is taught. Units 2 to 9 specifically cover the eight parts of speech while the remaining Units 10 to 12 concentrate on phrases, clauses, and sentences.
