This course deals with the understanding of the importance of biodiversity to humans. It also elucidates the salient role of people/communities towards the conservation of biodiversity. In addition, it also discusses the different conservation approaches adopted by scientists, environmental managers, and policymakers to prevent further environmental destruction. The Philippine Biodiversity Action Plan is also discussed for the local appreciation of the current status of Philippine biodiversity.
